Challenge #1: You Have Trouble Managing Your Time

The distractions from working at home will make it all too easy to get sidetracked from your work. It could be your dishes, doing the laundry, watching the kids, or walking your furry pet. What makes it worse is there is no accountability to keep you off social media. Try a time tracking software! Log your time or plan when you will handle certain chores away from your work. Build a schedule out so you don't fall down the Facebook hole when you're avoiding a major work deadline.

Challenge #2: You Just Can’t. Stop. Working

With no need to commute to the office, it can be hard at times to separate your work and personal life. With the time and availability to work any time of the day, you can push your work into the night time, well passed the time you said you would finish up. You might even be worried that your boss thinks you're not working, so you work extra to seem busier. Again, keeping yourself on a time management schedule is important, because it is even more important to unplug at the end of the day and make sure you have time for yourself.

Challenge #3: Team Communication Feels Fragmented

It is hard not being in the office because the communication is missing. Lunches with co-workers, in-office traffic, or coffee breaks. Using a communication platform such as Microsoft Teams or Slack keeps everyone in the loop, especially when these applications offer video chatting and meetings to still get your answers quick, just virtually. Best part about Teams is the ability to collaborate on the same document at the same time, as if you and your co-worker were working on it together in person.

Challenge #4: Technology Trips You Up

An office may have the tech upgrade that helps you run smoothly on the cloud without you ever noticing. But moving to a remote or home environment, you might not have everything you need to run all your tech needs. Check with your home internet provider t see if your speed and connectivity can support what your job requires.

Challenge #5: You’re Literally Not Visible

It's hard to get the recognition you deserve when completing something big when working at home. Visit the office sometimes! (If commuting is an option). Try to have video meetings more often to meet with the team and your bosses. Make sure that these meetings are productive!
