At Integritechs, one of the most important things to us is the safety and security of our clients and their businesses. As such we are continuously looking for ways to improve our cybersecurity services. The technical guidelines and steps are complex, but fairly straightforward. However, finding the right way to present the challenges and risks to our clients is a challenge in itself. Our intent isn’t to scare people, but the statistics and the rate of change is extremely alarming. As criminals change their tactics, so must we, which means we will be having much more of these tough conversations to better secure your company.

A large part of our job is to inform our clients about new risks and the new solutions to defend against these threats. Internally, this is a daily conversation. We carefully watch the trends of exploits, vectors, and attack vectors. Government entities are watching this closely too and we’ve seen it affect policy more and more over the years which means as business owners we will all inevitably have to comply with the security levels. Europe is currently leading the charge with the General Data Protection Regulation law (GDPR), which is a European policy designed to protect consumer data and requiring all of its businesses to comply globally, even if they have only one European citizen as a customer.

But this isn’t the main driving force for business. With ransomware, phishing and business email compromise attacks on the rise, we need to protect our businesses. Ransomware in particular is on the rise and devastating businesses. To properly protect from these attacks, many layers of security are required as well as a disaster recovery plan with backups that are ransomware resilient. Cybersecurity isn’t something you can set up once and be done with. Listen to your trusted advisors and when change needs to be made, let them do it. We all need to stay vigilant and up to date on this issue and be willing to continually work to improve our security and reduce our risk. If you have any questions or concerns about the state of your cybersecurity or disaster recovery please contact us, we are always happy to have a thought discussion and take appropriate actions to secure people and businesses.
